Pan de Jamón

Ingredients
For the Dough
- 4 cups flour
- 1 tablespoon yeast
- 3 tablespoons powdered milk
- 3 tablespoons shortening or butter
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
For the Filling
- 4 tablespoons honey mustard
- 1 cup green olives (sliced)
- 1/2 cup capers
- 1 cup raisins
- 8 slices ham
- 4 slices bacon
- 1 egg (beaten, for brushing)
Directions
- Make the dough
- In a large bowl, mix the flour, yeast, powdered milk, and salt.
- Add the butter/shortening and mix well.
- Slowly add warm water (as needed) and knead until you get a soft, smooth dough.
- Cover and let it rise until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
- Prepare the filling
- Slice the olives.
- Cook the bacon until slightly crispy. Set aside.
- Assemble the bread
- Roll the dough into a large rectangle.
- Spread the honey mustard over the dough.
- Layer the ham, bacon, olives, capers, and raisins evenly.
- Roll and seal
- Roll the dough tightly like a log.
- Place it seam-side down on a baking tray.
- Bake
- Brush the top with the beaten egg.
- Bake at 350°F (180°C) for 30–40 minutes or until golden brown.
- Cool and serve
- Let it cool slightly before slicing.
- Enjoy.
